Amazing Azaleas 10 X 20 Oil by Ann McCann (c) 2015

Amazing Azaleas 10 X 20 Oil by Ann McCann (c) 2015

There are amazing azaleas in the spring here. They practically glow in the dark.....

June 08, 2015 in Flower Paintings, Landscape Paintings

This is a plein air painting that I did with a brush and then finished with a palette knife in my studio.  I loved knifing on the thick pinks, mauves and crimson. They look bright here but were hot pink in the sun. The small yellow trees in the back  were red buds that had already bloomed.  This is for all you azalea lovers!
