"Poppy Lovelies" by Ann McCann Two 5 X 7" Oils
I painted a bunch of these small paintings for a show and these are the only two left. I painted them with a knife so they have a lot of texture. They would look very nice together on a wall!

"Gold Finch on Thistle" by Ann McCann 8 X 10" Oil
We love gold finches and spent a lot of our vacation watching them feed in the backyard of our rental house in Wellfleet. I’m experimenting with oil on a gold panel and some calligraphy again. Note the gold underpainting here and there.
"Butterfly Whimsey" by Ann McCann 8 X 8" Oil
I decided to do something a little different on a very long, very hot Saturday (105 degrees). So, I painted this with a brush and a calligraphy tool. The gold showing thru is a gilded underpainting!

"My Nephew's House Portrait" by Ann McCann 8 X 16" Ink & Watercolor
I enjoy painting house portraits, but they are an act of love. They need much detail for the home owner even though I would rather do loose and flowy. I try to combine the two, putting the looseness in the background, the plants and trees. These make nice gifts for new home owners. I also paint them for realtors who gift them to house sellers.
"Birds on the Marsh" by Ann McCann 16 X 20" Oil
Black Creek Marsh in Wellfleet is a home for many birds. Here I featured several egrets against the rich blues and greens of the water and grasses.
"Beach Rose Dune" by Ann McCann 12 X 12" Oil
Although I’m home in scorching, land locked Dallas, I still have Cape Cod beaches on my mind. I love beach roses!
"The Pink Hearts of Cyclamen" Chosen for the 60th Southwest Watercolor Society Annual Show
This exhibit will be at the downtown Dallas Public Library in September. I’m thrilled to be in the exhibit.
"Egret Marsh" by Ann McCann 6 X 10" Watercolor
I love this marsh in Wellfleet, MA, all the beautiful blues and greens. There are always herons and egrets flying around.
"Daylily Cottage" by Ann McCann Watercolor Sketch
This little green cottage in Wellfleet was pretty nondescript until all the daylilies bloomed. And then it popped!
The Daylilies Bloomed this Week! Watercolor Sketches by Ann McCann
The daylilies bloom all at once here on the Cape. They are gorgeous even though they only last one day. There so many!
"Beach Roses" by Ann McCann Watercolor Sketch
I love beach roses, rugosas. These are high on a dune above the beach at Corn Hill, Cape Cod.
"Sightings at the Backyard Bird Feeder" by Ann McCann Watercolor Sketches
Goldfinches are my favorite Cape Cod bird. We wait at our backyard bird feeder for hours to see them!!
