This is one of the paintings from my exhibit at the North Haven Gardens from May 20-July 10, 2016. It is in a gold wood frame and it really glows!

Tropical Red, White and Blue (c)Ann McCann 2016
This is one of the paintings from my exhibit at the North Haven Gardens from May 20-July 10, 2016. It is in a gold wood frame and it really glows!
Grande Red Rose and Grande Pink Rose, both 20 X 20", on gallery wrap canvases. These are painted on the sides and do not require framing (though they can be). They would look wonderful hung together in someone's home.
My exhibit is "Flower Memories," a collection of 14 oil paintings of flowers and landscapes (usually with flowers too!). There are new paintings in the show, like the large pink rose above. I will attend the reception at North Haven Gardens on June 10 from 5-7 pm. I hope to see you there! They have a lovely new art gallery and cafe.
Hibiscus Afternoon (c)Ann McCann 2016
This is the 3rd painting of mine that was juried into the Spring 2016 Dutch Art Gallery Show, opening May 14, 2016. The cool light from the window reflects onto the table and flowers. I was exploring the use of my transparent orange then and loving the effects of opaque against transparent color.
Iris Ladder (c)Ann McCann 2016
This is another one of my 3 paintings that was juried into the 2016 Spring Show at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, starting on May 14, 2016. I am in a "Van Gogh" state of mind this spring with painting irises!
Pear Cotton Candy (c) Ann McCann 2016
My Pear Cotton Candy got accepted into the Spring 2016 Dutch Art Gallery Show. The opening is May 20, though I cannot attend. Two other paintings were also accepted into this juried show.
There are over 60 paintings in this show. I have two paintings in the exhibit, and one is brand new. Both are scenes from my neighborhood in Old East Dallas. Come out and vote for me for the Peoples' Choice Award!
This was one of the larger paintings at my show. It was popular. I could have sold it more than once! Although this scene is from Sanibel Island in Florida, it reminded my friend of spending time in Mexico. Good memories I assume......
A long time friend of mine saw this at my show, and said he had to have it. I was very flattered, since he usually likes much tighter paintings. I am glad that it is going to a good home.
Irises in the Hood by Ann McCann (c)2016
This is a house in my neighborhood from the early 1900s. My focus in this painting was the beautiful purple irises, but I also captured a glimpse of the house at the top of the hill. This is a great neighborhood, the Belmont Addition in Dallas.
Bluebonnet Hill by Ann McCann (c) 2016
Here is my first painting from the trip to the Texas Hill country. For those of you have gone on the Willow City Loop in the past month, you will recognize this spot! It is gorgeous and one of the few places that is not fenced. Disney could not have done a better job here! I will be painting more from this location.
I painted this on a cloudy day, and the sunflowers really added some sunshine.

I am just back from a painting trip in the Texas hill country. I can't tell you how gorgeous it was, not only the bluebonnets, but orange paintbrush, red poppies, etc. The Willow City Loop was amazing. I have so many photos and so little time to paint those scenes. I have some plein air paint sketches to complete and will post them when finished.
I painted this last year and it is for sale here.
Iris are blooming everywhere right now. So, while they last, I am painting them as fast as I can. Here is my latest effort. This is a gallery wrap canvas that is painted on the sides.

"Pear Cotton Candy" by Ann McCann (c)2016
Bradford Pear trees are the earliest sign of Spring in Dallas. These are my favorite, and I try to paint them every year. I like how I achieved the opaque blossoms against the transparent shadows. This is my favorite so far!
