It occasionally snows in Dallas. Even with a big snowfall, it soon melts. However, it is beautiful while it lasts. I love the deep blues and purples in this painting, contrasting with the bright whites and blues of the snow. This is a path that I would follow into the woods. How about you?

Pink Rose on Chartreuse (Left Facing) by Ann McCann 20 X 20 Oil
I painted this to go with my right-facing Crimson Rose on Blue. The duo would really brighten up a room. The sides of the gallery wrap canvases are painted and do not need to be framed. They have a very contemporary look.

Crimson Rose on Blue by Ann McCann 20 X 20 Oil
I have been working on this concept for a while, making small roses throughout January. It was really fun to make this big one, using what I had learned with the smaller ones. Now I want to make a pink one to pair with this. This is an "eye knocker" with the reds, oranges and turquoises.
Autumn at the Lake (c)Ann McCann 2016
Autumn at the Lake by Ann McCann 11 X 14 Oil
This is plein air painting I did at White Rock Lake in Dallas. I recently re-worked it with a knife and heightened the color. We really do get some intense color here in late November. I love the bright oranges/reds of the trees against the blue of the water and sky. If you like color, this is the painting for you.

30 Day Painting Challenge Collage by Ann McCann
Here are 25 of the 30 paintings I created in this January 2016 30 Day Painting Challenge. I had 2 themes, Roses and Winter's Bones. This is the first weekend since Christmas that I haven't painted 3 or 4 paintings! I enjoyed working with both themes. I could generally use roses from my own yard. Which did you like the best?
