The 62nd Southwest Watercolor Society Exhibition will be held in the Greater Denton Arts Council building at 400 E Hickory S, from 8-25-25 to 9-27-25. This will be an impressive exhibition with 82 very curated watercolor paintings.

This is Ethiopia St in Jerusalem, with beautiful, old stone building and walls. This hot pink bougainvillea vine grows along the wall then climbs riotously to the top of the Cyprus tree. The actual photo I took is below.

The Montefiore Windmill. Designed as a flour mill, it was built in 1857 by philanthropist Moses Montefiore. Did a marvelous wine tasting there.
The spot where it is believed that “Mary, mother of Jesus, ended her worldly existence.”
Old City Sights by Ann McCann Watercolor & Ink
I am back home in Dallas now, after a 28 hour door to door trip! However, I still have some travel paintings to share. The top is the outside wall of the old city with a minaret, built in 1535-42. The bottom is an alley in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City complete with a colorful bougainvillea archway.

Old olive trees are twisty, crenulated and quite lovely. They are revered in Israel and cannot ever be cut down. This grove of olives filtered the bright sunlight, creating undulating shadows on the walkway.

Rose of Sharon seems to flourish everywhere, here in Jerusalem and at home in Texas and Connecticut. May my new grandson also flourish! Born July 1, 2025.

I’m spending a lot of time in bomb shelters here in Israel or worrying about where they are. However, I’ve captured a quiet moment here in our local park. Love the cascading blue plumbago flowers.
