"Daffodil Lights" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil

March 27, 2025

Daffodils are the essence of spring. They promise hope and make you smile. You can’t help yourself.

Orchid Complement by Ann McCann 11 X 14" Watercolor

March 17, 2025

A stunning duo that graces my studio!

Orchid Single by Ann McCann 6 X 12” Watercolor

Here I worked with one orchid branch with a slightly different technique.

"Pond by Codfish Falls" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil

March 10, 2025

In December we visited Codfish Falls in CT just before sunset. This pond was just across the street from the falls. I loved the light from the setting sun on the distant trees and its reflections on the frozen pond.

East Dallas House Portrait Commission by Ann McCann 11 X 14" Watercolor & Ink

March 05, 2025

I love doing house portraits for my realtor friend. She gives them as presents to some of her home sellers. My challenge here was capturing bricks and driveway stones. I chose to do the bricks fairly tight but the stones very loose.

SOLD "Cosmos Calypso" by Ann McCann 12 X 16" Watercolor & Ink

February 24, 2025

I’m glad a customer saw this at my studio and liked it as much as I do. It feels like a flower dance to me so I named it calypso!

"Anna TX" by Ann McCann 9 X 12"Plein Air Oil

February 18, 2025

I painted with the McKinney Plein Air group yesterday. It was 42 degrees and windy, but we were able to find a somewhat warm spot. This is what northern Texas looks like in the winter!

"In the Wind" by Ann McCann 12 X 16" Watercolor

February 10, 2025

This dandelion is spreading its seed pods to the wind. They may come to your yard! There are lots of silver sparkles here that don’t show in the photo.

"Cabin #1" by Ann McCann 16 X 20" Oil

February 05, 2025

Along Route #6 on Cape Cod, there is a row of tourist cabins with the bright turquoise one out front. I couldn’t resist painting them!

"December Sunrise" by Ann McCann 16 X 20" Oil

February 03, 2025

My bedroom window in Connecticut faces east, and the late winter sunrises are glorious.

"Dandelions" by Ann McCann 5 X 7" Watercolor

January 14, 2025

This is one of greeting cards. Playing with ideas for “airborne objects.”

"Pine Forest in Snow" 12 X 9" Watercolor by Ann McCann

January 13, 2025

We have had snow in CT and snow in Dallas. Great winter for us. I boldly signed my name in red. Not sure what I think of that!

"Storr's Woods at Sunset" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Watercolor

December 26, 2024

This is my view every late afternoon at 4:30 pm. I will miss this in Dallas!

"Holiday Floral" by Ann McCann 12 X 12' Watercolor

December 16, 2024

Red poinsettia and amaryllis decorate these winter greens with touches of gold and turquoise. It captures the spirit of the season.

"Laura's Wildflowers" by Ann McCann at the Dutch Art Gallery thru December 24

December 11, 2024

I painted this 9 X 12” plein air oil in the wildflower fields behind the George Bush Library. The flowers are fire wheel, horsemint (a type of bee balm) and basket flower. The color palette is unusual but it really works!
