This type of stairway is characteristic of my 1920s neighborhood in East Dallas. A neighbor has planted a wildflower garden around her stairway, pink primroses and some type of yellow daisy.
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

"Wisteria" by Ann McCann Accepted Into the 2021 Dutch Art Gallery Spring Show
My painting of wisteria (20 X 20” oil) was accepted into the spring show of the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas. The challenge was to paint with only three colors and white, in this case magenta, transparent yellow and Caribbean blue. This show opens on June 5, 2021.

The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas framed my Texas wildflower painting. The pink primroses and blue bachelor buttons sway in the wind and dance across the painting like butterflies.

The Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas framed my watercolor. The watercolor paper has a deckle edge (made by me!) and is mounted on a blue/gray mat. This gives the flowers some room to breath. They did such a nice job on this.

Ann McCann's Future Show at the Baylor Health Science's Library
I am slowing adding new paintings to my exhibit at the Baylor Health Science's Library. Due to Covid, my show from February 2020 has been up all year without visitors. I will be adding this oil painting to the exhibit, Sunflowers in Blue Jar, 9 X 12.” I will have an opening for this show. Stay tuned!

The redbud trees are blooming in Dallas. I love the varied shades of purple and pink. I have added some metallic gold touches on the trunk to give it some spark where the sun hits it. This would definitely light up a room.

This was a painting I did in Janet Roger’s watercolor workshop last month. I was going for hard and soft edges that create depth in the painting. Janet told me to stop and “sign it!”
