On White Rock Lake in Dallas, the cormorants perch on the old dock and gaze across the lake at the old pump station.

In the fall, the color on White Rock Lake in Dallas can be this spectacular. Many white pelicans live just beyond this bank of trees.
I saw the most gorgeous sunset while I was in Santa Fe over the Thanksgiving holiday. I have tried to capture it here, the purples, pinks and blues flowing over the snow covered mountains.

It was cold and rainy yesterday, and so I wanted to paint a sunny rose. Here she is. Pretend it is a warm spring day, the sun is shining and there is a lovely warm breeze.

"Jerusalem Blues" by Ann McCann 11 X 14" Oil
This blue plumbago vine blooms all over the city of Jerusalem. I liked this perspective of the blooms exploding toward you. Blue flowers are tough to paint as they naturally recede, but here I wanted them to be the center of interest. To do that, I had to add the warm peach color. I’m still making adjustments but am almost done.
