I saw this stone cottage on Isle of Skye last August. In the cool light of Scotland, these red/pink roses really popped, and this is what I have tried to capture here. Enjoy!
Watercolor and ink house portraits make lovely gifts for new house owners or for those who just love their homes. Above is one I did for a family in my East Dallas neighborhood. They were moving and wanted a keepsake of their vintage house. There is still time to get one made so contact me if you are interested. alouisemccann@gmail.com.

Fall comes late to Dallas, but it is here now in my neighborhood. This tree is red and gorgeous as it towers over the 100 year old homes.
I captured these yummy orange sherbet hibiscus in Cape Cod. Although this painting looks like a pastel, it really is an oil. I created this effect by toning the canvas with a dark color and then adding pastel colors with a lot of white in them. This painting is available at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.
We’ve been having some rainy, gray days here (weatherman calls it “mizzle”) so I felt the need to paint some sunflower sunshine.
This is my painting that will be exhibited at the Dutch Art Gallery, 10233 E Northwest Hwy, starting this Saturday, November 9. Please come to the opening reception starting at 11:00 am. The announcement of awards is at 2:00 pm. Food and drinks will be provided. It will be a party!
I need your support. Be sure to arrive a little before 2 pm. Thanks!
