Of course, what I first saw was the orange lilies against the window and that is what I wanted to paint. But on closer examination, I saw the people in the bar/restaurant against the window in the back. So, they are here too.
I’ve spent a lot of time watching this forest. It is my mother-in-law’s backyard in Storrs, CT. The tree shadows vary throughout the day, and the tree colors change with the seasons. Harriet left this earth in October, and so this painting is dedicated to her.
This is a marsh outside of Wellfleet, MA that we often visit for painting. The pathway is under water at high tide as well as your car if you don’t pay attention! The colors of the water, plants and sky are gorgeous and ever changing.
This is a cottage garden I saw last summer in Wellfleet, Cape Cod. I liked the juxtaposition of the old fashion flowers and the vintage fence and buildings. Feels like home to me. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
The Victorians liked these yard long images of flowers. A lot of people just collect these flower prints. I decided to paint one. Below are closeups of some of the flowers.
This is a fall scene along the Rio Grande in the Taos area. The golds are in the foreground tree and chamisa, across the river and softly reflected in the water.
Surprises can be found on little side streets in Santa Fe. Here was an adobe house with a beautiful turquoise door and trim. With the mountain in the background and flowers in foreground, this captures the magic of the southwest.
This marsh is in the Yale University Forest in Eastern CT. The autumn reds and yellows in the background and the cloud reflections in the blue water.up front were breathtaking.
The A&M College of Dentistry bought 7 of my paintings. This is one of them. Cone flowers and Mexican salvia are colorful companions in my garden.
I have two paintings of Spain in this show. Please attend the reception on Saturday, November 3, 2018. I will be there for the 2:00 awards ceremony. Come say “hi!”
I thought it would be fun to combine these images as they are at the same place but different times. I really think they look good together. Such dramatic differences at the ocean!
Here is the companion to “High Tide.” Again, this was the beach we visited daily while we were vacationing in Cape Cod. I was drawn to the reflection of the white fluffy clouds in the small pools for water.
This is the second painting of mine that was selected for the 2018 Dutch Art Gallery Fall Show in Dallas. Pictured is one of the many flower gardens at the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. The opening and reception is on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The Theme is “Around the World.”
