2016 Vickery Place Home Tour House by Ann McCann 5 X 7 Ink & Water Color

I created this ink and water color home painting for the Vickery Place Home Tour as well as five others.  I could do your home too!

The Vickery Place Home Tour in Dallas is on Saturday Nov 5th from noon to 4pm.  They are featuring 6 homes ranging from one that dates back to Vickery Place’s beginnings in 1912 to new homes.  They also have a variety of home styles as well – Craftsman, Tudor, modern Prairie. Tour proceeds will benefit the SPCA of Texas, PTA for Robert E Lee Elementary School and Vickery Place neighborhood improvements.  Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 on tour day.  http://www.vickeryplace.com/home/2016-home-tour

This was a 4th of July bouquet that I admired.  I originally planned to paint the flag behind the flowers but decided that would be too busy.  I love all the bright reds, oranges and blues.  This is for a room that needs a little punch to it!

"Winter Sky" by Ann McCann 5 X 7 Oil

I painted this in a 30 day painting challenge last January.  I went out with my camera on late afternoon in December and took a lot of photos at a local park.  The sky was so beautiful that I couldn't resist a Van Gogh style!

A customer bought both of these.  I am thrilled!  They are from 2 different painting trips to France, the lavender and sunflowers in Provence (2015) and Monet's bridge in Giverny  (2013). I am glad that others can enjoy my travel experiences.

"Dune Trio" by Ann McCann 5 X 7 Oils

Here is a trio of paintings from the dunes near Provincetown, MA.  They capture the beautiful light that is found in Cape Cod.  The light bounces off the water and sand and the air sparkles. That is why so many painters have gravitated there over the last century.  With this trio you could be at the beach all year round!

The sail boats are racing on White Rock Lake in Dallas at sunset when the wind picks up.  This was a plein air painting that I finished in my studio.

I was sitting in a grassy field above the harbor in Orleans, MA (Cape Cod) and saw this view.  It's the view of the flowers and I liked it better than mine.

In August we visit my Mother-in-law in Storrs, CT.  Nearby is Horsebarn Hill on the University of Connecticut campus.  The clouds were gorgeous the day we visited and were the perfect backdrop for the distant mountains and the cattle roaming the pasture.

Every August we have a large family get-together in Cape Cod, MA.  This is a typical scene in Wellfleet where we stay, beautiful colonial houses and lovely flowers.  These are sunflowers in the New England style (not Texan, smaller).

I painted this on a cloudy day last fall.  The Texas sunflowers really lit up the room.  There is something so nostalgic about sunflowers.  They remind us of mothers, grandmothers, etc.  The paint is nice and thick.

2016 Vickery Place Home Tour House #1 by Ann McCann 5 X 7 Watercolor

I have been painting a series of houses for the 2016 Vickery Place Home Tour, ink and water color. Here is the first one that has already been used for promotional purposes. They were fun to create, quite a drawing challenge, with rulers and T-square.  I hope the owners enjoy them.

Aspen Shadows on Snow by Ann McCann 20 X 20 Oil

It is still 100 degrees here in Texas so I decided to feature another snow painting. I loved working with all the beautiful blues and purples on the "white" snow.  Actually the snow is yellow, pink, orange, blue, purple...........................  This one hangs in my breakfast room!

Not So White Rose by Ann McCann 6 X 6 Oil

I created this in a 30 day painting challenge where I painted a rose every day.  This is one of my favorites, a white rose.  White light is actually a rainbow of colors and so is my rose, glowing in the center.

Snowy Afternoon in the Woods by Ann McCann 16 X 20" Oil

It's 100+ degrees in Texas right now and walking along this snowy path looks pretty good.  I created an "aurora borealis" look to the interior of the forest, moving mysterious colors. The paint is nice and thick.  This is for sale on my website, as well as a smaller version that I painted first.
