I have 14 paintings at the North Haven Gardens Gallery right now until July 10. The "Iris in the Hood" painting above is one of them. There are other artists exhibiting as well. It is a lovely space to visit and then you can buy some flowers for your yard!
These are the windmills of Don Quixote at La Mancha, or at least very similar ones. They are quite old and are next to a medieval castle. It felt like we were painting on top of a mountain, and we could touch the very blue sky.

This is a painting of the rose garden at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. It was a lovely spot, and we set up in a far corner to be out of the way. However, the security guards kicked us out and said we needed "permission" to paint. We assumed that would involve a lengthy process we couldn't achieve that day. So, I took lots of photos and finished this at home. The roses there were the biggest I have ever seen!
This bridge is one of a series over a lagoon in the Plaza de Espana in Seville. I think they were going for a Venice look. You could even row a boat through the canal. We had great fun painting on the plaza with ALL the tourists and locals selling souvenirs.
Toledo was the first city we visited in Spain last month. This view of the Roman bridge and the orange villa (a convent) at the top of the mountain was a stone's throw from our hotel, the El Greco Painter Hotel. And yes, we were across the street from the El Greco Museum. It was a beautiful morning in this medieval city. Click on the right image to see the photo of the site.
This is a plein air painting I did last week which features the skyline of the Cathedral of Seville, the 3rd largest gothic building in Europe. I wanted to capture the mystery of it against the glowing sky. I also want to portray how spiky these gothic buildings are! They are all points and scary gargoyles.
This is another plein air painting from my wild flower tour, April 2016, in South Texas.
I am finally finishing the paintings I started on my wild flower tour of South Texas in April. These are poppies I painted while standing in a field of them at the Wild Seed Farm in Fredericksburg, TX. What an amazing site, a field of red poppies blowing in the wind.
This is a painting of a large Rose of Sharon bush against a red brick building. Painting white flowers is always a challenge, because they are not really stark white but many colors. I am pleased with the outcome of using various blues and purples. This is currently in my show at the North Haven Gardens from May 20-July 10, 2016.

This painting is also being exhibited at the North Haven Gardens from May 20 to July 10, 2016. I had a hard time taking this off my office wall for the show. I enjoy looking at it and never get tired of it.

This is one of the paintings from my exhibit at the North Haven Gardens from May 20-July 10, 2016. It is in a gold wood frame and it really glows!
Grande Red Rose and Grande Pink Rose, both 20 X 20", on gallery wrap canvases. These are painted on the sides and do not require framing (though they can be). They would look wonderful hung together in someone's home.
My exhibit is "Flower Memories," a collection of 14 oil paintings of flowers and landscapes (usually with flowers too!). There are new paintings in the show, like the large pink rose above. I will attend the reception at North Haven Gardens on June 10 from 5-7 pm. I hope to see you there! They have a lovely new art gallery and cafe.

This is the 3rd painting of mine that was juried into the Spring 2016 Dutch Art Gallery Show, opening May 14, 2016. The cool light from the window reflects onto the table and flowers. I was exploring the use of my transparent orange then and loving the effects of opaque against transparent color.
